IMA S.p.A. has been listed on the Milan Stock Exchange since 1995 and in 2001 joined the STAR segment (Prime Quality Stocks).
IMA's philosophy is based on research and innovation. For 50 years, the company has produced hi-tech automatic machines for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, tea, coffee and food industries.
Its position of leadership is the result of significant investment in R&D, regular and constructive dialogue with the end users in its sectors and the Group's ability to expand internationally, conquering new markets.
IMA has filed over 1,000 patents worldwide and has launched many new machine models over the last years. Over 400 of its 3,400 workforce are technicians and designers committed to product innovation.
In February 2011 IMA completes the closing of the “Dairy & Convenience Food” division and purchases the “Chocolate & Confectionery” business of the Sympak Corazza Group.
In March 2011 IMA and SACMI sign an agreement to share the newco “CMH”, currently owned entirely by IMA S.p.A. This company, dedicated to the chocolate industry, will, in the future, become “Carle&Montanari Holding” to be held on an equal-share basis. A 12.5% minority stake in the newco will be reserved for funds run by J. Hirsch, which recently sold the entire Sympak Corazza Group to IMA.

Specialists from Dosing to Wrapping

Corazza is world leading manufacturer of packaging machines for Stock Cubes, Processed Cheese, Butter, Margarine and Yeast. Founded by Natalino Corazza in Bologna in 1954, since its very beginning Corazza manufactured Paste Soup Cube dosing and wrapping machines, developing then similar lines for Portioned Cheese and Butter, products that share with the soup cubes the paste consistency and the typical wrapping materials. Over 1,000 Corazza processed cheese packaging lines have been installed since then.
Corazza manufactures complete packaging lines for Processed, Cream and Fresh Cheese in triangular and square portions, Paste Soup Cubes and hotel-style Butter portions, from dosing to final packaging, and form-fill-seal machines for cardboard cases and trays.
The leadership of Corazza is mainly based on the following leading edges: wide range of equipment covering all market capacity requirements, prompt and reliable customer service to solve the problems linked to the whole machines life, i.e. marketing oriented technical solutions, re-engineering of installed machines and entire production plants, buy back of old equipment, operator training, spare parts supply etc.
The Market : thanks to a wide sales and service network controlled by the headquarters and sales offices located in Paris, Vienne, Bratislava, Moscow, Singapore, Chicago and Sao Paulo, the company holds approx. a 70% share of the world market for processed cheese plants and approx. 80% of the world market for stock cube machinery. Clients of Corazza include many important food industries such as Kraft, Star, Nestlé, Unilever, Galbani, Bongrain, Hochland, Bel and Lactalis.

Pressed soup cubes lines Overhauling of Cheese, Butter and Soup Cubes Lines

RC manufactures high speed packaging lines for Pressed Soup Cubes and specialises in the re-engineering and overhauling of packaging machines.
Founded in 1973 in Argelato (Bologna) with the goal of re-engineering and overhauling machines built by Corazza, RC extended then its services to machines and plants manufactured by other suppliers both in the soup cubes segment (Sapal, Fette, Benhill), and in other packaging segments.
After having gained a strong experience in re-engineering, in 1994 RC decided to enter the new machine market by designing and manufacturing a complete packaging line for pressed stock cubes, which obtained a good success in its market niche, the line consists of a press, a wrapper, and a cartoning machine.
Since 1999 the company has further expanded its business to include overhauling of processed cheese packaging lines built by the two major players of the segment, Corazza and Kustner.
Thanks to its close collaboration with Corazza - a company that counts on a worldwide sales network - RC can exploit every opportunity to enter new markets and is able to perform its re-engineering activity in the best possible way, with easy access to original drawings.
As far as re-engineering is concerned, one of RC strongest points is in the dismantling phase, when skilled engineers evaluate the conditions of the different parts and make decisions about their re-usability, which treatments are needed (cleaning, sandblasting, painting, etc.) and which parts have to be manufactured. |
The market : RC sales and service network, as well as major clients, are the same as Corazza: Kraft, Nestlé, Unilever, etc. |
